I've noticed on-line that virtualy every part sold for the 3sgte is for the MR2. Wut parts can be used for both the MR2 3sgte and Celica 3sgte. Granted I know they are the same motor with minor differences but can some one list interchangeable parts for me please.

Also can an MR2 down pipe be used on a Celi with a 3sgte?

Thank you

ok well... the MR2 3sgte is a 2nd gen engine... so figuring you have the 2nd gen... every ENGINE part is exactly the same as the alltrac motor... downpipe will not fit since it is rear engine on an MR2... and piping or hoses will not fit... alternator is located on opposite side of engine, all the accessories are the same i think but located in different locations.... the engines themselves are identical except the MR2 has a valve cover with the lettering on the opposite side... there should not be anything online you could purchase that will fit (i think?) except internal engine components... look for st185 parts

go here for st185 parts - http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/g_J_1993_TOYO...185H-BLMVZ.html
go here for st205 parts - http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/g_J_1995_TOYO...T205-BLMVZ.html

write down the part numbers you want, then google them, or go to toyota and order them. best you take your wife with you for that one.

Thanx guys, so where do I go online to order parts for a 3sgte? I went on ebay and orderd an exhaust manifold. By a company called ebstores. Right now Im running an ebstores manifold on my fe and I have to say they are quite good I have not had any problems yet, they are quick shippers and the designs are magnifacent.

Here is the link,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...BSA:MOTORS:1123

If I messed up in ordering this item please let me know. Im still learning about the gte and I really dont want to go wrong with her when it comes to ordering parts.

Oh and one more thing, is the the turbo and manifold on the Toyota Caldina one piece or two?

Thanxs guys

the caldina gte is a 4th gen iirc, and out of that deuce is a second gen. things are different about them physically, but i'm not sure what they are. and like i said, if you're looking for oem parts, refer to my first post.

joe, stay away from cheap aftermarket manifolds on a 3s. they are prone to cracks, and leaking, which is VERY bad on a turbo car.
the caldina turbo and manifold are a one peice deal.
a 3rd gen manifold bolts to the 4th gen head tho, so you can upgrade that way.
there are 2 diffrences between 2nd and 3rd gen downpipes, one being the extra hole for the extra bolt on the 20b, and the outlet is just slightly diffrent between the 2.
mr2 and celica aftermarket downpipes are the same.
all the internals are the same, like pitt said, and most of the accessories are celica/mr2 specific (things like the alternator, waternecks ect.)

I appreciate the help Manny, I wish I would have spoke with you before I bought this manifold. But The manifold is from the same company that I purchased my SW20 manifold from and so far it is serving my quite well with no problems. I'm trying to build my motor as powerful as tufy's, I found a garret here in Oki for 69 dollar. Its a 28 tho, but I've heard they have plenty of power. If anyone has anymore info to offer I woukld greatly appreciate . Like I said Im still learning and I need all the help I can get.

there is a big diffrence between a NA manifold, and a turbo manifold, that has to support the weight of a turbo, joe.
i wouldnt use it, if they paid ME to use it, never mind go out and buy one with my own money. lol
th 28rs is a great turbo, but a far cry from the gt-35r that tufy was running IIRC.

take some time, learn more about the motor, and what is what before you jump in and start spending money, joe.
if you really just HAVE to buy something, decide what generation motor you are going to buy, and start buying mantinence and tune up parts. lol
concentrate on getting a good solid understanding of the 3s, and the work that is involved in swapping and mantaining it, and you'll be 100X better off than jumping in and just starting buying random things for a motor that you really know nothing about yet.

yea joe listen to pressure2 on this...in terms of interchangebility, there are alot and there is alot left to be mis-interperted...best thing to do, is to actually get you that 3sgte engine first, and then worry about buying parts for it..i mean its like your trying to run before you can walk.

and btw, MR2's did come with the 3rd gen 3sgte. Amzingly enough.
