ok so here is the deal... my pass side woffer fried on me a few days ago and i went to the local fleamarket to get new speakers for the door right, so when i got there i saw a friend of mine who has a stand for cars and i asked him if he had 8' woffers for my car, he asked me for what?, i said for my door and he could not belive me. He asked me what car i had and i told him a 94 celica

Plenty of people have done that on this site. If I remember correctly, the speaker bracket that you have pictured in the first pic is actually for an 8 inch sub. Looks to me like you did it the right way.

That bracket holds the 6.5" speaker. The cars without that bracket have 8" speakers. My 'vert had the 8 inchers, and I think my hatch has 6.5 inch.

My hatch actually had the spot for 8's. At least that's what I had in the doors.

well i went to a local shop and guess what they 2 didnt belive me like allways even though i broght the braket. but he gave me an awsome idea that i will post up with in the next week in the interior forum of what i did. -------------------- 94 st

everyone got the 8 inch door speakers origionally, most people make an adaptor/spacer plate for a 6.5 inch speaker to sit there.

everyone got the 8 inch door speakers origionally, most people make an adaptor/spacer plate for a 6.5 inch speaker to sit there. That's totally untrue; my factory speakers were 6.5" with the plastic mounting thingie from the factory. The hole in the panel is 8" though but I'd need to make a different adaptor to fit 8" speakers. -------------------- ![]() |

Factory speakers are 6.5's with a metal bezel around them so they can fit. Aftermarket speakers need an aftermarket bracket.
