Hey. my celica has some rims made by "reaction". the pics i have posted on my profile are of the rims before i started cleaning them. right now theyre mostly clean but there is white residue and hard black stuff on the edges. i think its calcium deposits and stuff from the tires. it was all on there when i bought the car. if anyone can tell me exactly what that is and what i can do to get rid of it, it would be much appreciated. ive tried products from Black Magic, Maguires, as well as CLR and nothings affected it as much as scraping has but that scrapes the rims.

Buff everything out and paint them. That always works.
On the other hand, have you tried Simple Green, or Bug and Tar remover? You could even try rubbing compound. |

Your best bet is to take something like a 500 grit sand paper or lower (300 grit maybe?) And get the crap off the lip, then GRADUALLY step up grit levels to 1000 grit wetsand, 2000 grit, and then hit it with some wheel polish.
