I feel stupid for asking this but I honestly don't know the true answer to this. You know how there is that screen on the hood? Well I have that lil tray that sits under it. Now under my hood it gets hot. I wanted to take that tray off now that it isn't rainy season, but kinda scared because I worry about if I wash my car, if water will get in there and get on the alternator and make it bad. People said that cars that have a hood like that do it all the time and it's fine, but I wasn't sure if I can only do with when I do the swap, because like maybe the alternator is more out of the way or what? I have that 5SFE engine. Do any of you have yours off and can wash your car just fine with water all getting in there?

hmmmm interesting......the only solution i have is (geez who posted that thread) using plastic poppers to remove in and out easier.

....but i guess it wouldn't affect much unless you're directly shooting water in the vent laugh.gif which i highly doubt my filipino brotha will do thumbsup.gif

you need a fair bit of water to ruin the alt, as thats the only thing that could suffer any damage, my suggestion would be just cut a cover roughly that size smile.gif

Ok thank you Manny, and thank you everyone else.

Oh wait, that fabric under the hood, can that come off too? I mean, will it be alright?

EDIT: nevermind I seen tufy doesn't have anything under his and his car is faster and engine works harder than mine, so I should be good.
