25th anniversary edition was only the 1.8l ST's. So if yours is a 2.2l it isn't a true 25th anniversary edition.

Congratulations man, I wish you the best of luck with it. Mine is also my first.

Just keep it clean, don't rice it out, and when you see what your high school friends do with their car...just generally try not to copy it. If you take care of the engine, then you'll have a great car for a long time, and you already have a clean-looking and fresh platform to start modding from.

Good luck.

What would you recommend doing to it?

I want to get a body kit, but I lack something very important... Money.

I also was going to get a chip to increase the horsepower a tad, but I read that Celicas can't be chipped because of the override or whatever...

...So yeah. Lmao.

I'd recommend you just do small, tasteful things. For example, grab yourself some dental floss and some Goo Gone and take off those badges. If you want, you can rattle can your rims black for around 50.

As far as body kits go, just stay tasteful with it...but then again, if it's what you want, then go for it.

I think you shouldn't even bother modding it. Just enjoy the car man. If anything just do new headers with 2 1/4 piping into an Apexi or Magnaflow muffler and call it a day. Some splitters or coilovers would be sweet if funds are available, but that is as far as I would take it. Save some money and just stay on top of maintenance. That way when you get some real money then contemplate a 3sgte swap.

SS-III lip kit looks great. Most people on here tend to steer clear of big body kits. Personally I feel it ruins the smooth lines.

For performance- I would suggest finding a muffler that you like and take it to a nearby exhaust shop and have them build you a catback.

If you want a big power gain you'll need to swap it (3S-GTE) or turbo your 5S-FE. All of which has been well documented on this site. Be sure to check out the parts database here and find things that you like.

How much (approx) would turboing my car cost?

And would it still be street legal?

And where can I find the SS-III lip kit? Lol. :]

Don't know how much it costs, as I've never owned a GT (3 ST's).

SS-III lip kits can be found in the buying/selling forum from time to time. Look up "ST202" on eBay and you'll find a bunch of goodies.

Are all of the logos on the car adhesive? Even the Toyota emblem?

I might head down to Kragen tomorrow and get some adhesive remover and some black spraypaint for the rims.

The "TOYOTA", "CELICA", and "GT" emblems are stuck on, and can be removed by using a blow dryer to heat them up for a couple minutes and then running some fishing line or dental floss behind them. After doing this a few times they'll pop off. Heat up the leftover adhiesive and rub it off, or wipe down with some Goo Gone. The large Toyota logo that is center on the hatch lid and front bumper cannot be removed, as they will leave two holes from where they were mounted. Be aware that the paint behind them will be better than the paint on the car, so you'll want to wax it as well, or else you'll still see where the emblems were.

For painting your wheels, buy some sand paper and lightly go over the wheels (take the wheels off of the car). Then after they have been cleaned well and sanded you can spray on a couple coats of primer. Once it dries you can spray them black by spraying several light coats, letting them dry fully between each coat. Pick up some note cards as well and line the rim with them so you don't get overspray on your tires.

Thanks! Helped alot :]

I think I'm just going to do the emblems today. I'll do the rims when the weather gets a little better.

Welcome to the 6gC family...and the GT brotherhood. wink.gif

Like the other guys said, stay on top of your maintenance and keep her looking good. Other mods you might want to look into would be JDM tails (the Kouki ST202/ST205 tails on eBay) and maybe replacing the power antenna with a smaller S2000-esque one.

Either way, congrats on the car.
