I had my head all cleaned up, Port, Polished, Decked, Pressure & stress tested, and had the Combustion Chamber Domes Polished.
All the work was done by my friend, He does great work. It should add more than about 40+ hp, Atleast thats what we're expecting at 14.5lbs. The intake ports are perfectly matched up to the gasket & intake manifold. They are nice and rough to keep fuel from sticking to the sides. The casting marks are all gone which makes the air flow smoother. The head was decked, A nice flat surface to mate the block to. Polished combustion domes reduce the chances of having a hot spot, which leads to detonation. The exhaust ports were only slightly ported to keep exhaust velocity high, and they are mirror polished. What, if any, kind of gains would this produce for a n/a motor? I've got an extra intake and exhaust manifold I've had some plans for, but was hesitant if there wouldn't really be any gains. Do you lose any top end power by polishing the intake manifold? I read somewhere that you do, but I don't think it specifically pertained to a Celica. Having an n/a 7A, naturally I need all the top end power I've got, it's not like I have any to spare

You would get gains on any engine. removing the casting marks is the best thing to do, increases air flow, reduces turbulence, increases velocity.
more down low and uptop power. on an NA you just wouldn't benefit as much has a turbo car. -------------------- |

im assuming you also ported out the inlet mani slightly because the gaskets are always (read ALWAYS on both inlet and zaust side)) oversize by a couple of mm or so in diameter. You also want to be careful taking the inlet ports on a gen2 out much as they are too big already.
