So while driving today i crossed a hevily rutted intersection, i guesss from big trucks or whatever. but anyways, After i crossed it i realized that my check oil light had come on. I don't know if this would have any relation to each other but i though i would let you guys know just incase. So I got home and i checked my oil, it was clean and at about the half full level, so I topped it up to the full line and started up the celica again. The check oil light is still on. Does this mean that i could have a bad oil pump? or could it just be an electrical wire that came lose? Anyways, any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does the engine feel heavy or have reduced power? Does your radiator coolant look gunky? Any oil leaks under the car? How do you drive your car? And do you let it warm up before giving it gas?
(Trying to determine whether you have a blown head gasket / cracked head, or an oil leak) If I had an oil light on and there were no visible signs of anything wrong I would do an oil and filter change (see if some crap was clogging the system possibly by sabbotage) and check for error codes here's how -------------------- Mike W

That's a low oil pressure light. You have lost oil pressure for some reason, a line is clogged, pump bad, etc. Oil level usually isn't related (unless you are very low on oil). Typically when that light comes on you should stop the car wherever you are.

your engine would be making alot of noise by now if the oil pump had failed. could just be a bad oil pressure sending unit.

So i just realized that i was an idiot and it was the check engine light that went on not the oil light. now im pretty sure thhat its just a sensor that popped off, is there a way to tell which sensor without physically looking for it cause i looked around the enigne bay and exhuast and couldn't find any sensors missing or with torn wires.

Alright so it made some sense to me, but where exactly is "Data Link Connector 1" I'm kind new to this. Is it somewhere in the fuse box?
