anyone have an opinion about wrapping a car with matte black vinyl? Anyone know a good place to buy some to experiment with? The only place I could find was ebay, and ebay performance screams bad. |

This has been done MANY times, even with high-end cars. This company in Germany did it to many Nissan GT-R's, a Porsche, Ferarri, and I could go on. It looks pretty sick! I'll see if I could get the web-site so you could see some pics. As of where to get the vinyl, that I'm not sure of.

not sure how this would hold up on a daily driven car and for how long. cool idea, but i would imagine that a couple rain storms and a little hot weather and the vinyl would start to come off. not sure how much it would cost, but i don't think it would be cheap if you want it done well. just bust out the rattle can and paint it yourself...lol

wrong you are sir^
its a vinyl thats used as a protective layer for the paint. no need to spray andthing or sand...its a full complete vinyl thats looks soooooooo sexy when its done right my personal favorite.... DaMn thats friggin hot its pretty cool because in a few years when you get tired of it, or it gets scratched, whatever the case may be, you peel it off and your back to your showroom condition paint..little pricey but well worth it...for the full post check it out here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250944 -------------------- I"M NOT A TOYOTA FAN, IM A FANATIC 1984 accord hatch 5 speed (T-Belt)-Junkyard 1991 VDUB jetta wolfsburg Ed. 5 speed (clutch)-junkyard 1988 Dodge Aries K (sold) 1969 Chevy El camino - Traded for celica 1991 Dodge Daytona-Traded for Celica 1988 Chevy Camaro-Work in Progress 1989 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 - For Sale 1995 Toyota Celica-Work in Progress |

I think that looks sooo amazingly good. $3,500 is more than what the most of us could sell our Celicas for though .
Hmm, one thing though. Let's say I get a small rip on the door because someone vandalized my car and the wrap started to peel. Or say I scrape my front lip on something and the wrap on the lip got scratched or torn. You would have to re-wrap that entire part of the car right? -------------------- |

Do they have different color options? Like a flat white wrap?

Do they have different color options? Like a flat white wrap? I had a flat white "wrap". It was called oxidization! not sure how this would hold up on a daily driven car and for how long. cool idea, but i would imagine that a couple rain storms and a little hot weather and the vinyl would start to come off. not sure how much it would cost, but i don't think it would be cheap if you want it done well. just bust out the rattle can and paint it yourself...lol But seriously, it would hold up guys. It's not going to just come off in hot weather and rain. What do you think all those pretty commercial vehicles that look like big billboards have on them? It'll stay on for probably 5-7 years if applied correctly. Trust me, vinyl is very durable. This post has been edited by CastrolCelica: Dec 15, 2009 - 12:05 PM -------------------- |
