I went to Maaco to get a price on repainting my car once i get my bodykit. Like a $350, $450, and $550+ paint jobs
Heres a link, and the different pain options are at the bottom
http://www.maaco.com/paint-overall.aspx#

I am not really looking for an expensive! paintjob, but i dont get the difference between the enamel and catalyzed enamel?
What do you think about the cheapest paint option, will it wear away in 2 years?? Money is kind of an issue now frown.gif
thanks for all your input smile.gif

cheap paint jobs are not worth it because it is an investment. do you want to spend for 3 paint jobs or 1 paint job for example? theres a lot of hassle to prepare for each paint job. unless you get into accidents a lot.

True i see your point. Do you think i can get a decent paintjob under $800.
Also know I dont drive too far, and after this winter when the car is repainted, Ill be getting a car port where the car will sit, and wont be outside being beat on by the sun smile.gif

800 dollars definitly won't be show quality..maaco won't do show quality paint jobs nor are they set up that way. The closest to stock paint maaco can get is with their base, clear. And even then it isn't the absolute greatest. I used to work at a maaco and also where i painted my car. the key to a really good looking paint job is it's prep work.

If there is a specific shop you were looking at..ask around to see what people think of them. Each maaco has different reputations. I know our 800 and under jobs are pretty decent. and thats just because there are a lot of enthusiasts that work there and want to do a good job..

Try and get the best paint job you can get the first time..It's worth it if you keep the car for awhile..

yeha i guess is would differ between shops, my friend got the cheapest paintjob done on his civic, and its been about a year. I mean it doesnt look great, but it doesnt look bad at all? I just dont know how long it will last?
I guess ill just drive an unpainted car for a bit lol, and save some money for a decent paint job smile.gif
Where do you live? I could bring my car to your old maaco if you give it a good rep, thanks alot biggrin.gif-
