Cant trust ebay, 4.9L Celica? Options

Ive seen some pretty crazy things on ebay, but a 4.9L Celi is just about at the top of my list.
I wouldnt mind my 7A-FE being a 2.5L, though

Its a part of a page on ebay. The seller listed the celica as a v6. Just goes to show that there is a few US ebay listings for celicas that are pretty off. Ive ordered a couple of intakes and strut bars that never ended up fitting right. They sent me the wrong "right" stuff.

yeah i had a pair of twosrus rear endlinks and one of them had fused with the sway bar.. so as i tried to loosen the nut, the stud broke. i guess i didn't grease them when i should have?? anyway i bought a pair of RacingBeat end links the other day..

Im w/ Ferdi, $150 for endlinks is pretty pricey in my book.... Whats the difference, just strength and materials?

Adjustable endlinks are more beneficial because they can be adjusted to maintain proper sway bar positioning after you lower your car. They're going to hold up better than OEM, too.

$250 for springs
$500+ for GOOD shocks
(OR $800+ for coilovers)
$270 for Suspension Tech sway bars
$150 for adjustable endlinks


Seems like a nominal cost when setting up a decent suspension system. Why skimp?

twosrus are $75 for the pair.. not for a single one. and RacingBeat has the pair for only $59.

imo the biggest benefit in these endlinks is that they're easy to remove and not have to deal with rounding the allen keys.. guys who have removed their end links know what i mean.

No. Delete the sway bars, lower the springs down to 200, and drop the struts down to 220. Then 40 versus 150 becomes a huge difference. There's a difference between purely lowering and what you've listed.

No. Delete the sway bars, lower the springs down to 200, and drop the struts down to 220. Then 40 versus 150 becomes a huge difference. There's a difference between purely lowering and what you've listed.

If you're spending $220 for struts then you're not buying performance parts. GR-2's, monroe crap, etc. is just OEM spec replacement. So you're basically just going for aesthetics by staying as cheap as possible, so if that is the case just stick with OEM end links. My price list is a rough cost for a good setup, not a cheap setup.

Fair enough. Neither of us are considering drop height though, which is important. For my purpose, yes I'm going cheap...but GR-2 struts also do the job. They're guaranteed not to blow with a 1.5" drop or less, even if they are just OEM replacements. And my springs are exactly...a 1.5" drop. However, this doesn't mean I won't focus on sway bars later on, just not at this time.

Anyway, richee3 has been running Autozone end links for a while without issue, although I'm not sure how long they were on when he was actually dropped. I'd spring for those Racing Beat ones, 20 isn't a dramatic difference (although 50% more expensive, relatively). I see no specific ones made for the Celica in that link though, unless it's implied that the ones for an MX-5 fit. And the reason for not sticking with OEM end links is because I'm sure they'll break upon removal, so I just need a similar replacement.

^^ Truth. The car was only lowered for a month, maybe a month and a half, but I've never had issues with the AutoZone end links.
