see if you can find the service manual online, i think you may need to evac the AC system since the AC core is right there too and may need to be taken out with the heater core. not 100% sure, i'm sure someone else who has done this on this car can chime in with more help than me.

good luck, its not nearly as horrible as it sounds though.

My heat stopped working too and believe its my heater core as I've searched through everything else. A nice walk through would be nice smile.gif

if your car does not smell prestone, this is maybe heater cable or heater valve rod broken (near the firewall)

you can look through my album at pictures of the process
http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e376/aznrobber/interior/

I have a basic step by step to remove the dash and get to it all, but its not online at this time.

basically, start @ the steering wheel, remove the column trim two on the front face and 1 under.
remove the cluster trim and cluster
remove the shifter trim, then radio bezle and radio + a/c controls
remove the glove box
remove the lower dash trim
remove the air con. plastic vents located in the dash and remove bolts from behind them, main driver side, small upper passenger side.
remove the driver and passenger side kick panels
then wires and dash bolts that you find.

I'm trying to go off memory from several years ago, but PM me and i'll try and get together the collection of pictures for a step by step of how to take it off exactly.

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

it was the cheapest one i could find, the shipping was very fast, i got it in less than a week, and that was with the heater core being back ordered.
