i know this must sound like a stupid question but i am picking up a 95" celica GTFOUR in a few weeks and was wondering what happens to rain water and snow entering and blocking the large hood vent?
is there a filter or some method of keeping the water out of the engine bay?

Cheers, Adam

Nothing happens. Snow will eventually melt from the extreme engine heat.

All GT-Fours come stock with a bonnet resonator. Most people end up removing them though.
Don't worry about it!

There's also a baffle in between there that catches snow and diverts the water to the rad area.
