hello there,
i'm new on this forum and think it's great tried to find info about caldina 4th gen 3s-gte i want to know how far i can go with the original caldina turbo because it kicks in at low rpm (1.1 bar at 2800rpm) it drives very good on the road Visit My Website got a fmic and 3"exhaust but after 4000rpm the pressure drops from 1.1 to 0.9 or even 0.8 bar at 6000 rpm aem boostcontroller set at 1.1 bar , walbro fuelpump (look at proflie for info) 280 hp is the max at this moment thanks |

Add a helper spring, and it will allow you to run higher boost pressures, AND hold it to redline.

isn't that the same as filling up with washers underneath the wastegate mount?
i took a electronic controller so i didn't have to do that i did that with a mk3 supra turbo can try the spring option you know what the max is of the caldina turbo? i know the engine is strong but can't find much about the turbo This post has been edited by evert1976: May 7, 2010 - 5:13 AM |

Great job on the swap I want to try the same thing sumtime in the future I hope. Was it hard to swap it in? did u have alot of bugs to work out? Was there any additional steps that needed to be taken because this swap was a st215 engine not the st205 engine? FWD?

friend of mine had one and it whas more powerful then the 3th gen
and turbo is much more alive in the low revs perfect for street use later i heard that the block is also stronger build then the 3th gen friend of my did the wiring including the jdm climate controle the rest is the same is every 3sge or gte already had the superstrut and turbo gearbox with LSD as a factory option so that whas an easy one fmic and 3"exhaust is all home made axles stayd the same also. forgot to tel its fwd had good grip with the toyo tyres now ivé got hankook and it spins even on dry road if i drive "normal" so it wil be toyo's again soon This post has been edited by evert1976: May 7, 2010 - 1:44 PM |

you can look towards the ball park of around 330 hp about 20lbs of boost for that turbo/motor, after that upgrades are necessary its a very good motor and damn near identical to the 3rd gen... (with the exception of some things)

ok thanks,
what can it be that he wil stay at 280 ? 3'' exhaust , fmic with 2,5"piping maybe the intercooler is not up for the job? it a truck intercooler cut in half with new sides on it. if i can get 330 i'll be very happy wil not go for new mods cause i've also got a 2JZ in a bmw E30 chassis to build but another intercooler is not that expensive and an easy fix if so... |

I had a FMIC and 3inch downpipe-exhaust and got almost 270 by just that. i didnt up the boost or anything. this was on stock boost (15psi) -------------------- |
