Hey guys, I'm new here and have been lurking the forums for a while now but finally decided to register!

Does anyone know of any online parts places that I can get an intercooler pump from? I've been looking around for a while now and have had no luck thus far. Its for a 1994 GT4 WRC.. mine seems to be dead as im getting code 54 and I know its not from the level sensor, and when i've put power direct through the relay the pump doesnt turn on.. so either its seized from sitting around in japan for however long, a broken wire after the relay somewhere, or the pump is just dead..

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

he might be able to find one for you

Also, you can contact Corry at http://www.zenautoworks.ca/

Yeowzah... That is one expensive pump, hopefully that price is a bit off, haha. I messaged lagos, and zen, as well as a few other JDM places around the country.. hopefully I can find something a little cheaper than 800$!!

Thanks for the reply and information! I think im going to rip the pump off tomorrow and see if I, or any of the electric motor places around town can get it working again.

or contact Gottagoturbo over on the GT4OC, he`s bound to have a second hand one laying around.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I managed to get the pump working again after taking it apart.. replaced a bearing, and soldered some burnt connections on the stator and its working 100% now! I've never seen an electric motor with that much dirt/rust in it before.. seal must have been leaking and then when it sat for however long in jap land it must have had some time to build a significant amount of crud up!

The car is now out of limp mode for the first time since I have owned it (which is not that long), the previous owner was driving it the entire time witht the engine light on with code 54.. He was slightly shocked at how much better the car is working now biggrin.gif

This is good to know. I just got my st205 also. My aux water pump is making some noise too... I will take it out and check the bearing as you did. I'm not very interested in spending 800 bucks on an auxiliary pump! The coolant for the intercooler is a completely seperate system from the rest of the engine is it not?

Yup its a completely separate system from your engine coolant. There are 2 bearings inside it, the one closest to the impeller on mine was completely seized up! A bit of advice before you take it apart is that the nut that holds the impeller onto the shaft is left hand thread, and there are a few small shims in there, make sure you get all the shims back in otherwise the impeller could possibly rub! smile.gif

And im with ya, 3$ worth of bearings and a few hours of your time beats the hell out of 800 for a new one, although from the look of the pump itself, with some harness modification i think you could make any 12v pump work... the connector is 5 wires, but the pump itself is only 2 wires.. the other 3 wires are resistance wires that are looped into the main power feed for the pump.. you cant get rid of that or you'll get a cel, but i THINK if you were to cut the wiring right before the pump you should be able to replace it with another 12v pump. I will put this theory to the test if my pump ever permanently dies.

nope.
jim gets mostly motorsets, which do not come with the intercooler pump or heat exchanger.
my clip came with a bad IC pump, lucily, i had a spare, cause jim did not. (he normally supplies his buyers with a bosch pump)
after reading this thread tho, i think ill try and take it apart and clean it up...cant hurt! lol

and yea, you can use any pump you want as long as you do the resistor mod from the gt4oc site to cure the code 54.
ohh and, welcome to the site! smile.gif
