Ok here's the story couple of months ago I bought a gt4 st205 hood/bumper combo got it a month later had it shipped DHL Express the bumper got here bent but I reshaped it but the hood was heavily damaged at least thats what it looked like to me but I'm no auto body expert I think someone used a fork lift to move it or something it weights like 18lbs only I just wanted to post some pics and see if you guys think the hood can be fixed I called DHL and filed a claim about 2 and a half months now they told me it would take 4-8 weeks its been about 9-10 weeks now and still nothing I'm not a happy camper I wanted to get this stuff on my car before winter hit but doesn't look like that will be happening anytime soon I've never used DHL before but is it suppose to take this long to get a claim fixed ?? Plus I told them they're better off just buying me a new hood and inserts to save them money and save me time because it doesn't look like it'll be cheap to fix if its even fixable....sorry had to rant I'm pissed off this is like 4 years in the making lol.

So is the hood pretty much trash or paper weight ?? I could prob recycle it and get some nice shiny quarters since it is made of aluminum lol.

Ouch... That sucks. 9 weeks, they should have done SOMETHING by now. I would be calling them every single day if I was you. Those hoods are too expensive to let something like this happen and not worry about it.

I wouldn't have even accepted the package. If there is THAT much damage to the hood then the box had to have been thrashed.

I tried but the keep making excuses its like those car insurance claims no side wants to pay for the damage and they just want to let it drag until you forget or something. I told them I was gonna start posting this stuff on forums if it takes longer the the specified weeks they gave me lol.

It was shrink wrapped with reinforced cardboard so I couldn't tell if its been crushed or what not plus it wasn't me that signed for it I was at work when it came.

^^^ Thats just half of the packaging.

I have done some bodywork in past (but I'm no expert by any means) but I hate to say this: The hood is toast and I believe that, whatever you do to it, will NOT ever be perfect.
Go after them hard!

Good luck!

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, they can't ignore the BBB, if they keep refusing to reimburse you for the damage they caused. I had to do this once for something that was broken during shipping.

^^^ Thats what I was thinking when I first saw it too I tried to give myself hope but I guess I gotta play the waiting game a little longer. redface.gif So for you future DHL users think twice before you use DHL I will never use DHL again I'm sorry but this is just ridiculous....I know stuff happens during shipping but how they manage to pinch the hood on the sides like that ?? How ?? Was the Hulk working for them ?? I dunno they never even gave me a straight answer. I just don't want anyone else going through this so I'm just sharing my exp with DHL for the 6gc community.

If I was working on your car changing your timing belt and "accidentally" broke the water pump and said it would take me 4-8 weeks to order the part and another 4-8 weeks to get it fixed what would you say ?? Would you be patient ?? Would you be ok walking to work 20 miles in the snow/rain for 16+ weeks ?? Just to find out you will have to wait even longer at the end of the 16 weeks to get it fixed ?? Thats what I asked the DHL customer service rep I could of came up with more examples but I didn't want to make the CS rep cry I'm not mean I just ran out of patience I waited and waited just to YES YOU GUESSED IT !!! Wait even more....I was patient I keep up with my part they didn't.... kindasad.gif
