So I know I just posted a message in the Buying/Selling section, but I was offered a hood (mine was closed on tools by the previous owner, bows badly on both sides, and for some reason slopes to below the fender line where it attaches to the clips by the windshield), right fender (to replace the replica one I have now which doesn't line up well), and new undercarriage plastics (since an oil change left me with all of mine ripped) installed for $400. Both the hood and the fender are the same red that my car already is which is good, but if I could save money by installing everything myself, that would be even better.
So my question for you guys is are the hood and fender easy to install by yourself? Has anyone put up steps for how to do so (I searched the forums but couldn't find anything)? I have a garage filled with tools and a friend who has done some body work before, but has never installed a hood or fender, so I'm undecided about what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Hood will be the easiest thing. I think it just bolts onto the hinges. Just make sure you got a guy to help, that thing is heavy haha.
Fender is a little trickier. Take out the fender lining (be careful with 3 clips on the lower side closest to the door. I just ripped them out, I didn't really care) Unbolt 3 nuts that connect the fender to the bumper (kinda hard to get to, use an extender). Open your door and unbolt the one you see there (extender). Under the fender, in front of the door is another, you'll see it. Two bolts on the under-side towards the bumper, and 3 on the under-side towards the door/rocker panel. Then take out the low beam, the fender is bolted onto the headlight bracket via 2 bolts and another right underneath. Then the 3 or 4 bolts you can see on top when you open the hood and you're ready to rock. Hope that helped! that should cover both. hardest part will probably be just lining them up right. but yeah, if you do it urself, that will save alot of money.
