If you guys are looking for limited slip differentials for your 6g I found a site that will make them. They dont offer one for our cars but the average cost for the conversion kit is around 300 buxs. I sent them an email to see what they can do for us.

Damn! You let my cat out of the bag! Thats the company that I'm working on becoming a dealer for. As you said they don't offer a specific application for the celica but can do custom stuff pretty cheap. It seems to be a very dedcent diff for the price.
I have a spare diff that I'm getting ready to send them. I'm hoping they can get one of their existing units to work without having to machine the carrier. If thats a possibility then I'll likely start selling them through my site (without you having to send in your diff). There is still some groundwork to be laid down, I'll keep everyone updated. |

We TRIED to start a GB with them a while back... and everything just fell through unfortunately. I would definitely love to see this put into production for our cars... and I'm hoping this will start a trend ... convincing other manufacturers to make more performance products for our cars. |

I'd like to know if you did a 4a series engine swap if the LSD would install without any problems. Also, the site mentions a spring kit if you install. Why is that even necessary?

That makes me question the same thing. They have one for the 5th gen gts which is a 5sfe so does that cover the 6th gen 5sfe also? HMmmm..... -Bryan- -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe

Woh woh woh guys. Too many questions, no answers!
First off, a welded diff is a BAD idea in a street car. Since both wheels always have to turn the same speed something has to give whenever you turn a corner. Sometimes the tires just chirp, sometimes it breaks axles. It just depends, but its a very bad idea in anything short of a full race car. Spring kit: This is just stiffer springs for the limited slip. It changes the lock up characteristics. Its not necessary, just an upgrade. As far as other cars they list as working. They can only guarantee that they will work if its the exact same tranny. I dont know enough about the other models to know if any of them used the C52 transaxle. I would guess that the corollas do, but I'm not 100% on that. On the 4a series swap: If you keep the same C52 transaxle, then it will work. The diff is contained in the tranny. |

They have to have someones diff to make one. I have spare thats ready to be sent off, I just haven't had time to do it. Once they do it one time, they should be able to make them without sending your diffs in. The only exception may be if they have to machine the housing somehow.
I'll try to get it sent off soon.... |
