Take off your center console, you may have to remove the lower driver side dash and the passenger glovebox to access the bolts holding the center console in, unless you know how to without removing a ton of stuff. Disconnect the cables from the tranny and the shifter and pull the cables out, be careful not to stretch the cables, there's a boot that securely fastens the cable to the frame. It's a rubber piece that looks like a square-ish rectangle with two hole tunnels.
Anyone else wanna shine in? -------------------- |

Hey there, did u pull the cables out through the firewall, or in towards the interior? More than likely, you'll need to run the cables out from the inside of the car. Trying to shove them back thru the firewall just doesn't work, and that rubber "stabilizer " piece needs to be cut above each hole to allow u to move it where you need it, after you've fed the cables thru... hope that helps..

I have the old cables out and im trying to put the new ones in. The only problem is trying to get the ends that go in the engine bay to fit where they belong bc the cables are hard to work with(to me at least).

You should be able to push down on the cable, just enough to get the clip started, tap the clip down lightly with the handle of a hammer,
it should go right on. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.

I have them in and i have a big problem. My friend was trying to help me put in the pins for the ends of the cable and he dropped and lost the one that holds the shift ball and cable together. Is there anything i can do for a quick fix?

when I installed my short shifter, I dropped one and used a clip from the body of an rc car, just until I got another.

But the one that is missing is the one with the two prongs, will the rc clip still work?

I thought you were talking about the one at the very end of the cable where the ball socket slides on the shift linkage, the one that is
basicly a bent piece of wire. If you are talking about the flat two prong cable retaining clip, the one that holds the cable in the bracket, no an rc body clip won't work for that. -------------------- JDM guy made me do it.
