Better to swap the base/mount with a 7th gen to avoid hacking and gluing. S2000 or 7th gen antenna will screw right in; use loctite if you're afraid it might get stolen.

what do you mean by it doesnt fit?
Is it too big? - Drill smile.gif
Too small? - Fill smile.gif
Me and my friend did this to his truck (antenna was too small) filled in the gap completely, then drilled out the right size hole.
You would need to do a little touch up of course, or buy the s2000

Does anyone know where you can get a replacement/7th gen base mount from in the UK?
I've done a fair bit of searching but cant find any.
My antenna extended the other day and just kept on going till it came out, but my base mount has pretty much fallen apart, so cant even replace it with the s2000 antenna which i was planning to do anyway.

When I saw this thread I tought, what a great idea! But while I was shopping for an s2000 antenna on ebay i also tought, what about the motor that pulls the oem antenna out and brings it in? I read the thread about ''how to'' put a s2000 antenna and there are no specifications about this. Shouldn't we disconnect the motor??

Yes you should disconnect it, otherwise you will ear the motor working every time you start or stop the car.
In fact, I disconnected mine when my antenna was out by maybe 5inch, so this way i dont ear my faulty motor working for nothing, i dont have the ugly 50inch antenna and i have a decent reception...

if you're going to replace the antenna, they you should just take the motor from the stock antenna out. There is no point in having it just sit there. I believe it's only held on by one bolt and then you just unplug it and pull it out.

You can by the antenna back from the factory you don't need to by the motor just the part that goes up and down. I don't think it's even expensive. I replaced mine by myself. Oh damn you already took the motor out. If you still have the motor, then you can replace the mast. I think that's what they call it.
