6gc i need your collective hive mind O.o
I've had to change my clutch master cylinder 3 times after rebuilding the factory piece didn't work. I don't think I'm installing it wrong... if you can microwave cereal, then you have the skill-set to change your clutch master... There's really nothing you could mess up here. I've tried different types of brake fluid with no luck either. The fluid simply turns dark after a few weeks, then in a few months the clutch starts sticking to the floor. Keep in mind that I've been buying autozone and advance auto masters. . . but what are the chances that all four would crap out? Is the aftermarket quality really that bad?? That was the first thing I tried when this problem originally presented itself but the clutch was still sticking to the floor. Changing the master solved it for a few months... So I switched back to the oem slave and have been changing the masters every couple months since.

but what effect would the slave cylinder have on the master? whenever the master gets replaced my clutch works perfectly. Therefore the slave cylinder is in good working order. do you mean my slave cylinder is somehow killing the masters?

the fluid turning black that fast...seems to me like the old slave is contaminating the fluid.

okay ill take your word for it. Tonight Im going to remove the slave cylinder and see what condition its seals are in. If they're good then the contamination theory will be ruled out. If they're bad... then ill buy a new slave

i dont think the salve has anything to do with your problem. why are you buying aftermarket autozone crap. get an OEM rebuild kit. i had the same problem in my All-Trac. rebuilt the master with an OEM kit and no problems

Are you buying the rebuilt master cylinder?
Autozone has new master cylinders for sales. You can always upgrade from a rebuilt units and pay the difference and see if the problem continues. Worse case scenario would be to buy a new master and slave from Toyota. That should eliminate all your problems. |
