Hey guys. I've been working on my Celica for a long time; so far I am up to a C-One front end, "Boomer" side skirts (that was the name I found them under), and Z3 Cyclone fenders, and rear Splats. I'm almost done sanding/ filling now and looking to paint. I'm doing all this with green_machtoy, and am looking to have some feed back on my ideas.

1) Base coat is going to be the Lamborghini green. Paint code *0077

2) I was thinking of doing sort of a candy coat of black, the point of this is to darken the green so that it is less intense and give it more depth. I don't know the technical term.

3) I wanted to add two black stripes from the edge of the hood to the trunk. I was thinking of making them 10 inches wide and 3 inches apart.

4) To top off the paint, id finish with a nice clear coat to bring a nice finish to it.

5) For the Emblems I wanted to take two of the old school Celica Dragon Emblems and replace the Toyota "T" with them. I also was thinking of taking the old school Toyota emblem that has a miniature Celica Dragon next to it on the left side of the trunk, and a TRD Emblem on the right. The problem I am running into, is that I would need all of these in black.

6) The spoiler is going to be a bit of a challenge, green and I have come up with a design that mimics the Roush spoiler. I really don't have any other way of describing it, but we plan on glassing it onto the car before paint. (The stripes would go on top of it)

7) For the rims I wanted some 18" 5 flat black rims.

I just am looking for some feedback and will take any suggestions you guys give. Below are some images that I used to come up with this design.

1) http://www.lambocars.com/archive/paintmur.htm / http://bespokecashmere.files.wordpress.com...elago_green.jpg

2) No Pics

3) http://customerpics.americanmuscle.com/image.php?img=7436

4) Shiny

That Toyota emblem with the dragon to the right looks niiiiiice. I may actually want that inside. But my personal opinion on emblems, the cleaner, the better. I've already debadged my Toyota T upfront and it makes the car look a lot smoother and slick. When I paint the car, I'll remove the rear emblems and will put an old school cursive Celica emblem on the right on the hatch. I like your dragon idea though, but I would just get one for the rear and leave the front smooth. Just my opinion though, it's your car!

Hey, thanks for the reply. I gotcha with the smooth look deal but I think like with the dragon it adds to like the " what kind of car is that????" Factor. No car has that emblem (save for the celica) so that's why I wanna do it.

True. I like the "what car is that??" factor, but I want people to have to work to guess! Bahaha. On mine, the only brand will be my 6gc.net sticker on the left rear quarter window and the cursive "Celica" rear emblem. I like sleek ^_^ But great idea for your car!

Its funny, because i am actually going to go with your suggestion now that i look at it. I thought about it and most people look at the back of the car to see what it is AND it looks wayy sleeker with no emblem on the front. Thanks for the suggestion!

IMO stripes of that type are only for muscle cars. If you truly want stripes I'd go with "ralley stripes" or better yet not at all.
But that's just my opinion

I think your plan will bastardize a Celica.

Be prepared to get looked at, The green will attract all kinds of attention.
Don't really like the idea of a roush style spoiler, or the racing stripes.

Still no reason to say my single celica will bastardize all of them.

That's for sure. And the whole thing with the rousche spoiler, is not the actual spoiler itself, but that style. I would fiberglass it onto the car.

cops, cops, cops is what i have to say.

i'm not fond of the idea, but i like what your going for. it's creative and different, and that's what makes some cars more unique than others.

...Reading comprehension. Find yours.

I would never say you are going to bastardize ALL Celicas. I said your plan will bastardize A Celica... That Celica would be yours, if that wasn't abundantly clear the first time.

Flashy paint, big gaudy body kit, american muscle racing stripes, mustang spoiler, replacing every quality metal panel on the car with poor quality fiberglass ones, ill-fitting wheels meant more for auto-x, etc... It's all outdated by about a decade.

that green paint looks fantastic on a Lambo, not a Celica. Reminds me too much of Paul Walker's Eclipse, and I don't know why anyone would paint their car that color.
stripes on Celica = no good. Like D said, american muscle cars only.

when he said it will bastardize a celica I think he and probably others fear that it will be very ricey and embarassing for other Celica owners... but in the same reguard it will look great to others. It's your car, your choices.

any plans for the motor ? or just keeping it slow ?

post some pics of the progress.

i plan on buying the 3sgte block, and fitting it to a 5sfe head. Ill do the ST 205 drive train swap and and put a nice turbo on it. sway bars, st205 struts, green_machtoy and I figure that we could hit 500hp if we do it right.

Well bro, thats cool and all but its not your car so thanks for your input, but i was looking for more constructive comments. Not this blatant "your cars gonna look like ****" that im getting from you. But thanks anyways.

I think the green is cool, i like it and i like how it will look when its done. Ive drawn it up like a thousand times and i like it every time. But then again, i do really like green in general so im probably biased in that fashion. The funny thing is, i actually liked that eclipse lol. . . so maybe its just me and sure, maybe i am a decade behind, but it will set me apart from the rest of the Celica owners.

I dont think ill bastardize it, and i dont have a fatty kit on it. i kept it simple with the C-One Front and Z3 Cyclone fenders. I have done nothing else in terms of body. The spoiler was just an idea, i would create it from scratch not go out and mod an existing mustang spoiler. I was looking at it in terms of style, the lip that comes off the back of the car, not the exact spoiler. So i mean, calling my designs ricey may be spot on, but ricey is gonna be an opinion so, its whatever.

I plan on doing a black coat over the top ( candy coat or whatever) to lessen the intensity of the green. but its still gonna be green. and for sure, ill post pics from when i got it running to now, and every little step in between. (ill keep engine photos out of it until i got the $$ to tackle that)

Thats for sure. Im still thinking of how ima get by them. But thanks man, thats the goal. I wanna be a first. I dont want to do the norm.

This whole statement is 100% a$$-backwards.
What you meant to say was you wanted to keep your 5S block and mate a 3S-GTE head and turbo to it. Adding an ST-205 drive train is some serious business - for now you are better off keeping it 2WD and work on everything else including that extremely involved hybrid motor you intend on.

Lololol he's right. A 5S head has a narrow valve angle, while the 3SGTE head had a wide valve angle. A wide valve angle is better for making power.
