The battery in my celica has been there since 1997. It has never been changed. However, if i do not drive the car for a few days . . . it will not start but will later on. For instance . . . i have not drove it since tuesday and my dad tried to start it yesterday (saturday) and it wouldn't start.

Do you guys still have the stock battery? Do i need a new one? TY

Get a new one, 6-7 years is pushing it. mine is 97 also and still original, leave the dome light on for a few hours and it dont start,,,just havn't got around to replacing it, and as long as I park inside, its ok, not sure if it would start if I had to leave it outside in this cold overnight.
