Car should go into gear only when you depress the clutch while it is on/running. Sounds like your clutch is out. Hopes that helps.

either you shift cables are not connected or your clutch is permanently engaged...it should not go into gear without the pedal pushed

Could have been installed wrong, faulty clutch, there could be many reasons.
The pivot point on your clutch fork could have broke, regardless I doubt it's an axle. Could be but I doubt it, the car does have an open diff so if the axles broke you wont move but there would probably be some resistance going into gear without the clutch. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

Have someone put it in first gear, if the broke axles is spinning right by the transmission its just the axles and not the clutch. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq
