Hello.
My friend has bought a garrett turbo kit for his celica st205.
The turbo will have a external wastegate (42mm), now we got all the parts we need, including a T3 downpipe.

BUT, we are struggling with the exhaust manifold. We can't find any manifolds with T3 flange that fits this engine, also we need to have a hole for the wastegate.
We are desperately needing one but we can't find one, so now we are planning to use a after market manifold with CT20B flange. It can perhaps be used if we cut the flange, and make a T3 flange and weld it on the manifold, plus we need to drill a hole on it for the wastegate.
The problem is that it is much hard work and easier said than done.

So, I'm wondering if anyone know where I can get this T3 manifold for a reasonable price ? Is it possible ? I have found some on eBay but they are for the 2nd gen engine, but they are also without the hole for the wastegate.

What should we do ??

There is a guy in australia who would make a copy of mine. However its in australia, its steam pipe, and the highest of quality so is about $1000 aud. Shipping would hurt you.

QUOTE (Smaay @ May 19, 2011 - 9:45 AM) *

Are you sure it will fit my manifold ? Because it's CT20B I used before, not CT26. Or is it the same flange ?

Could also try EMSpowered. They tout being able to do custom jobs and offer a HUGE line of exhaust types and designs to suit your purpose...That is, if you dont mind waiting lol...

CT 26 and CT 20 have the same flange, thats why so many alltrac and MR2 owners want CT20s

korban: Bit hard to tell from the pic but by judging by the cost ide say it would be thin walled stainless. Might be worth your while to brace the turbo.
I dont like the wastegate being on that side either.

Korban let us know how that manifold goes, I've ordered a bit of stuff from him and half of it is junk. But my flatmate runs one of those manifolds (that one on his AE92 3S-GTE and a 4A+T one on his AE92 4A-GZE FX-GT Corollas) he says they're fine, but then again he never drives those cars, whereas I drive mine all day every day so I had a custom 3S-GTE-T28 steampipe made up and ceramic coated

manifold cost $800

coating was about $200

220+GST for manifold, turbine housing and downpipe coated

Yeah I was too cheap to go the custom way.

I thought the wastegate port was weird to, but it's to clear the alternator.

I was going to use an adaptor on the factory manifold but was worried the oil drain would get almost horizontal.

I was going to brace the turbo regardless.

Will let you all know how it goes.
