I've had my car for over half a year now and I have not been able to open the trunk with my ignition key. Is there a different key I should have or do you think something is just stuck in there?

also, the vallet key's base is triangular. the master keys are rectangular.

another way to check is the vallet key cannot lock or open the passenger compartment.

if you can lock or open the passenger compartment, it is the cable then. thats should be an easy fix.

It wont go in all the way nor will it turn. I'll have to try the glove box but I don't think it opens it. How would I get a "master" key?

for a new key, go to the dealer, they can make you a new one with your VIN number, price varies, by my local dealer charges 4 dollars for this.

The lock cylinder is probably seized. Too much corrosion. The lock on the black Celica that I just swapped was the same way. The cylinder worked one day, and the next it didn't. I could stick the key in but not turn it. I could still open the trunk from inside the car but that was it. I took the lock cylinder to a locksmith to have it rebuilt and it cost me $130 because they had to order virtually every part new. However, assuming yours isn't as corroded, it should only cost about $30.
