I bought this car in 2003 when I was in college. I am shocked that I still own it and that it still starts up (with a jump). It really just needs a little love to get back on the road and I hate to sell it. I bought it with 100,000 miles on from a lady that had, I kid you not, every oil change she'd ever put into it. It's been an amazing vehicle. I never thought it would have gotten me through college and then some. The timing belt went (my fault for not having it checked) at 178,000 miles and I had to have major work done on the engine to get it running again. I have all the paperwork from the shop that did the engine work back in '07. Since they did a great job fixing it, I was able to drive it with no major issues until it got to the miles it has today 281,013 and the brakes went.

Here's what I know is wrong with it:

The Bad
  • The brake goes to the floor. Therefore, it's not safe to drive away. You will need to make arrangements to take away unless you know the magic trick to make this work.
  • It won't start without a jump - (alternator?)
  • It's leaking transmission fluid
  • The power passenger window doesn't work
  • Left front quarter panel has a decent dent - this might be reported in CarFax report since the lady that hit me mailed me an insurance check but I never actually fixed the dent with the money. It was just too much of a hassle and it didn't affect the operation of the car. It's in the pics.
  • Paint looks like crap
  • Ordinary cosmetics/wear and tear on the interior - see pics
  • It's old
  • it has a gazillion miles on it

The Good
  • new battery
  • new drive axles
  • new brakes in the front - this did not fix the brake problem however, so it's something else
  • new tires in the front
  • starts up no problem with a jump - had it running today 9/18/2011
  • a/c works - needs to be charged every now and then
  • it was used as a dependable, daily driver up until about two months ago when the brakes went
  • never been hot-rodded or anything - I'm a ordinary female driver who just wanted a decent, reliable car, and the woman I bought it from was a mature, adult lady. I have lots of maintenance, service records going back to 1997 when the car had just 20,000 miles.
  • it has a gazillion miles on it - and still has the ability to run with some love. Toyota's simply rock.

I don't know alot about cars but I know that many people in the past have wanted to buy this from me because they liked or collected this particular style car. I likely won't know the answers to many technical, mechanical questions, but I'll do my best. Obviously it is sold as is and there are no guarantees made about it's condition. I'm happy to take pictures of something specific if you want me to. I'd really like to see someone put some love back into the car and not part it out. It's been the best car I've ever owned, hands down. There's no reserve since I don't really know what it's worth. Highest bidder takes it. Please make arrangements to pick it up in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I have the title in hand.

The high bidder on eBay was from Ohio, then went on a seemingly permanent vacation to - you guessed it - the Ukraine! wtf. I am in Florida...it needs to be picked up.

Anyway, it's for sale still. If you can offer more than the local junkyard...it's yours. Best offer takes it. I need it gone asap because I'm transferring the tags today and I can't have a vehicle with no tags on it in my driveway.
