I bought some '01 leather seats (front only) and want to swap them into my '96 gt. What's it going to take? It's not an easy job apparently.

ever thought of looking in the stickies up top?? there is a "how to fit mr2 seats" thread that has a post by Batman that links you to CC.uk about gen7 seats in a 6 took no longer than 3mins to dig around after seeing this post. Info on pretty much everything is all on this site, its all up to you to take action to dig a little

hard and it cost me $180 to weld on the bottom base on the the brackets correctly....the cc.uk is some steps...better take it to a welder to do the job....the offset of the 7gc are narrow and not as wide as the 6gc...custom brackets weld on or use the 6gc....cut it from the original bracket and modify to weld on the 7gc seat brackets...it was a headache...but after all that's done....car looks great with them. good luck...not as easy as people say unless you got mad skills.

agreed! i just swap those 7th gen seats on my 99 and the diffrence is night and day, when we did mine, we measured that the 6th gen seats are a inch wider than the 7th gen, so we spaced out the brakets half a inch, learned that the hard way! but @ the end of the day they where worth it.
