The oil pan on my old motor has an extension piece(the 2piece oil pan) my new 7afe has a smaller oil pan. Also on mine the top oil pan has a bracket for the transmission to bolt up to the block. My new one doesn't haven't the pan with the bracket so if I use the new engine ill have 4 bolts holding tranny to the engine. Well I'm debating on either doing that or taking motor back and getting money back and rebuilding my engine. I need help on what I should do...

you could use the upper and lower oil pan from your original engine. chances are you got a 7A out of another car instead of a celica. this happens alot in the 7th gen world. celica 1ZZ and 2ZZ have a bearing carrier for the passenger axle. corolla, matrix, vibe, etc, do not have this bearing. so the holes need to be drilled and tapped.

Thanks Smaay. But bad thing about that is if i change the oil pan out it'll probably void warranty from junk yard and if i do all this work and the engines no good then I'm looking at two engines that aren't worth ****. So, I'm going return motor and get money back and rebuild my original 7afe. Plus it'll be fresh for turbo.
