This is a instructional, not a question, do this at your own risk though. Low level of difficulty. You need a philips, an 8mm and a 10mm. I used a hard-to-find alternator, a similar NipponDenso alternator should work, but I can't guarantee it.

I have a 3rd gen 3sgte, but the 5sfe alternator that I had on it needed replacing because the adjuster bolt snapped off inside the alternator, so I mixed two together. The alternator that I bought is from an ST215 (4th gen 3sgte). One inch larger diameter and one inch thicker. The problem is that the ST215 alternator positive output post hits the hood, and so does the 3 pin plug. Everything is in the pictures below, and there is more in the video (which just finished uploading and should be live in a bit)
