my a/c has started shuting off lately and switch light starts flashing it's fine for awhile after I reset it any ideas

Probably means you have too little or too much juice in the system. I think the pressure switch is what makes that light blink. Its to tell you the AC compressor is not coming on.

I've seen mine flash after leaving a plug under the dash loosely connected. It would be worth checking all of your connections in addition to what Lagos suggested.

If the belt is loose it will start flashing. Usually accompanied by a loud squeel though

all the above are possibilities, check your belts, check your connections, get one of those fill kits from autozone and see what the coolant is at.

new compressor brg. new tx valve new belt this spring only does it mabe once a week and will reset after I turn the switch off and on

That happens all the time in heavy rain but thats just where i mostly see the problem. and then when you turn it off and back on, it works again. but thats not the only time it may do that. Common toyota problem, majority of the fixes lies in the A/C relay.

The only time I saw that light blink is when I have the dial turned to heat, and the A/C on.......don't ask....A quick readjustment fixed the blinking light...other than that Ive never seen it...
