Hi,
I recently purchased a 1995 celica convertible. It runs great but has a few odd issues. The top goes up and down but the rear windows do not. I tried different switches, no luck. I did not notice any fuses out. Also, the rear speakers do not work. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue, any ideas what it is? I am guessing a short or splice or something in the wiring, but would love a direction to start looking. Also, are there lights that illuminate around the top and rear window buttons? If so those are not working either. Thanks! |

I've noted in the past that the windows have issues with the contacts in the motors. so from what I have seen if you clean the motor contacts they usually work. |

I purchased my 95 last summer and the windows and speakers were also not working. Someone had unplugged them. The rear windows did not work, toyota place wanted like $800 to fix them. I took them out, ordered a new arm and it worked fine. You can remove the "washer" looking things from the window with a screw driver and pliers if your careful. The toyota place argued with me that I could not buy this part ( the arm), but I did, just can't remember the correct name for it. I found it from the guys on here though. It was an easy fix! Good luck. Remember to always put your top up, before you put the windows up!

The arm you replaced, it was bad on both sides? I guess once I take apart I will find out whats going on... |

You unscrew the back panel that the seat belt goes through. There was a white speaker plug back there and I just plugged it back in. Both sides were bad and I think whoever did it thought they were unplugging the windows because they didn't work. Both of my rear windows were off track and the little white rollers were broken (that arm that you can order has new rollers with it) It's a pain to get back in, but not $800 bucks worth! Don't forget to grease the replacement wheels!

Where I have it circled I think that's the quarter windows plug, I unplugged it once and it most certainly stopped my quarter windows from going up or down. And the white plug to the right is for your rear speakers.
