Yeah...so when I turn my key, my car doesn't start, and my starter makes a buzzing noise (not a loud one), and I'll have to turn the key 2 to 3 more times before it will start. It's not the battery either. I had it on the charger for a few hours today, so I'm starting to think the teeth on the starter/flywheel are getting worn down...but I thought I'd get some opinions from you guys.

Probably not, those teeth really dont wear down that much...your starter is most likely on its way out...i think i may have a 5s starter if u need one.

yeah its the starter. I had the same problem about a month ago. i just bought a rebuilt starter for $75 from advanced autoparts. it was $150 but when i took my old one back i got $75 back on my visa. Yeah it doesnt start for like 3 turns then it starts up and runs fine. Buy a new/rebuilt starter and you will be fine. it took me an hour to install it myself. just wear some glasses or something since all the **** falls on your face when you are under the car. You will want some help to, its kinda a bitch to get out and back in once the 2 bolts are removed.

just take the starter off.... open her up and get the brushes replaced

chances are thats all that needs to be done... it will cost you $15

while you have it apart give it a good clean with solvents.... check over the magnetic part and ensure it is smooth.... if not then the whole starter needs replacement

disconect the negative before you do anything.... those things can pack a punch

there is a little more then that to checking to see if a starters parts are all working..
