Hi, know I am a newbie on this board but had a question if anyone can help...

Setting up an emanage blue for my 3sfte.

Rotary settings are 3 (coil packs plus 4 cylinders)/4/2.

Jumper settings were standard.

When I plugged in the emanage with ignition harness, I could not get the engine to start (turned over but would ignite). Without the emanage it starts and runs (though overfuelling!!)

I did look around, and found one Japanese page that said the jumper 2 setting needed to be set to 2/3 not 1/2, as that sets ignition out to 12v not 5v, as the engine used 12v. And without doing that the engine wouldn't start.

So.....I took a risk and did it. And killed all my electrics! Hoping it's a fuse (checking after work today) but has anyone any ideas of the emanage blue settings for a 3sfe?

Or the 5sfe, apart from the distrubuterless ignition the 3sfe has (5sfe has a distributor right?) they should be the same...? The 3sfe comes with MAP normally, not MAF, assume the 5sfe is the same?

Thanks if anyone knows this one!

I believe most circuits are 5v; sensor circuits that is (e.g. IAT, MAP, TPS, IGN, etc)

thanks smile.gif

the alt amp blew, so replacing that, then may try for the emanage without the ignition harness and see how it starts up with 5v all around. Trial by error, I will get there! smile.gif

cheers again smile.gif

No fuses were blown, I was just being special over earthing out....

However.....Agh, can't get the damn thing to start still! Removed ignition harness to try to see if that was affecting it and no joy. Wandering if my harness is wired up wrong, as 3/4/2 seems the right rotary settings.

Think I have worked something out at least....the harness I had made was done from the pre-96/6 3sfe ecu, that is different to 96/6 onwards, so reckon there are some wiring changes to take account of.

EDIT: BTW, rotary settings that seem to wrok are 3/4/1 - the 3 is because the later model 3sfe is a 2 coil wasted spark ignition, and the 4/1 is the same pressure setting as the MAP sensor driven MR2 with rev2 3sgte engine.
