Hey sorry this is my first post on the forums so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or whether this is in the right forum topic but I desperately need some help.
I was driving home late at night in the pouring rain and hit quite a large pot hole, ( I live in Christchurch, New Zealand and we recently had a devastating earthquake leaving our roads in an utter mess with thousands or potholes and uneven surfaces), anyway I came to the lights, pulled off into a sidestreet and checked my tyre, sure enough it was punctured. Abandoned the car came back the next day, fitted a space saver and thought I was on my way, 'till I started driving.. This is where things got bad. So as I started driving the car seemed to shake. I sat in idle for a while and the car was rocking side to side like I had something a lot more powerful than a 3sge, more like my dads V8. That was the first abnormality, secondly it was a lot slower and sluggish and I was to afraid to get it over 50km/h so I snailed my way home slowly. I noticed it smelt a little like suffer? I'm not sure whether that was the wet brakes or not however.. When I got home I lifted the car once again on a jack and had a look behind the wheel. I'm no expert with this sort of thing but I think there could be a problem with the CVs or suspension or something (superstrut). Anyway things looked very greasy compared to the opposite side and the inside of my rim also looked quite dirty. Ill try upload some photos when I know how but does anyone have an idea of what may have happened to my poor car D; Any input is welcome, Cheers Tom |

The car shaking could be a broken transmission mount. Possibly you bent/broke the half-shaft, leaking gear oil would account for the smell of sulfur.
