Just finished a nice long two hour ride through the country. Top was down, speeds were up. Things were great. Then I stopped and tried to put the top up. The motor runs and it gets about a 10th of the way up but then seems to get stuck. When I had someone try and help it up while I push the switch it stayed just as stuck. Is this a motor problem or does something need to be lubed? Also, how do I raise this thing manually?

There is an access door in the trunk for the manual switch. It's located on the panel closest to the seat. Open the Velcro panel, and flip the switch to Manual. You can then operate the top without the motors. If you have an owner's manual, the info is outlined in there.

if you can close after you flip this switch manually, then its the pin in the motor, if you cant then your mech is damaged.

I knew about that switch and Tried using it to no avail. We can pull the top up about a quarter of the way but then it gets stuck. I didn't want to break anything so I stopped.
So, is the motor toast mcgoats? -------------------- |

so under further investigation, it appears that where the motor meets the cog on the drivers' side is stuck. It must be that the mother is not moving freely for the cog to allow movement. I'm going to attempt to remove the big bolt that keeps the cog in place so I can move it manually.
Question: is the motor suppose to stay engaged? The passenger side one allows free movement. -------------------- |

no maybe the motor is bad, but both motors should move freely if disconnected.
