I have Two ten inch Jl audio subs. I was wondering what size wire guage do i need and how many watts for my amp. I currently have a 500watt amp but i dont think its really enough to make the subs hit

i would just run 8 gauge power wire on a 500 watt amp. if u get a bigger amp you can always rewire 4 gauge.

What kind of amp do you have? A quality amp with a true 500 watts rms should be more than enough for a pair of 10's. As far as the wire I wouldn't go with any less than 4ga. It might be a little overkill right now but it leaves room to expand later without having to rewire the car. Just my opinion.

it'll cost less to wire the car in 4 guage or 2 guage now, instead of paying for something smaller now and then paying for something bigger later. like audiofreak said if it's really 500 rms it should be fine. check the specs.
