Hi,
I'm currently working on a st205 engine into a st202 (celica GT, european spec) swap. I bought the car with the 3sgte engine already in, but not connected (unfinished project). It is a jdm (RHD) engine in a LHD car, so the previous owner extended the engine wiring loom to enter the vehicle on the right side, but didn't connect anything yet. Now the problem is there seems to be no connection on the wiring loom to power the intercooler water pump and also no connection for the water level sensor on top of the intercooler. Is this something that should be in the car's wiring loom? Or has it maybe been removed because he was planning to run a FMIC? It looks like I will have to make a custom connector for the water pump. Is it ok to run the water pump all the time, or is there some sort of ecu or temperature control for it? Does anybody maybe know the color coding on the water pump wires? It has a 5 pin connector, 3 small pins and 2 larger pins. |

QUOTE Is this something that should be in the car's wiring loom? Or has it maybe been removed because he was planning to run a FMIC? The control comes from the ECU, via the main engine harness. The power comes from the power distribution center (Where all the fuses are) QUOTE It looks like I will have to make a custom connector for the water pump. Is it ok to run the water pump all the time, or is there some sort of ecu or temperature control for it? You may, depending on what you have remaining of the harnesses. I would say its not okay to have it run 24/7. It will wear out the pump faster, be noisier, etc.... QUOTE Does anybody maybe know the color coding on the water pump wires? It has a 5 pin connector, 3 small pins and 2 larger pins. I can probably get those for you. But I might recommend one of two options as I think you might be in for some work. 1) Get a membership at GT4OC - they have all the service manuals and EWD (eletrical wiring diagrams) for our cars 2) Purchase a set of books off Ebay if you can find them. anyway - let me know and i can get that info to you... but I am horribly bad at doing it quickly... so FYI It will end up looking something like this... that relay box holds the W2A Motor Relay and the Fuel Pump Relay The me of 2013 is strongly questioning why the me of 2003 felt it was necessary to completely disassemble this relay box... God only knows where those relays ended up...

Thanks, now at least I know what to look for. The book you have is it the haynes manual, or is it something else? Iwant to order the haynes manual, but your book looks interesting as well.
I found the relay box, but it doesn't seem to have any internal connections, only for the two fuses (radiator fan I think): And a picture of the pump: Also I have to make a bracket to mount the pump. Anybody got a picture of a pump mount? |

Does anyone happen to have anymore pics and information on this. The more detailed pics the better.

I'll have a tutorial for it in a couple months...I know I've been saying that for a while =P But finally got a second vehicle, and the celica is parked now. So I'm going to be finishing this up sooner than later. |
