Hey gents, I've been a longtime lurker and learner on this site. I am currently stationed over on Okinawa Japan and I own a 1998 Celica SS-III with the notorious BEAMS Redtop Engine and Superstrut Suspension. I've seen a lot of wanted posts for JDM Celica parts and I recently have the opportunity to pull the trigger on another ST202 SS-III Celica of the same year. Why buy two of the same car you ask? Well I will be coming back to my home state of California hopefully here in the fall and because I don't want to incur the costs of hiring a registered importer and trying to bring the whole car back to the states (Most likely won't come to fruition) I have decided to take the engine/transmission and some other select parts back to the states to build upon my Locost project. (For those curious about what a Locost is: www.Locostusa.com)
Anyways back to my point about the other Celica, I will really only be buying it to take the front hub/spindle/upright setup for my home built race car but everything else will be fair game. I am a diesel mechanic by trade and I plan to take parts off during my 1 1/2 to 2 hour lunch break in the afternoons and will be pulling things off in no particular order or by special request. I am trying to see if anyone out there is needing/wanting specific parts as I know they don't sell this particular model back in the states. I still have to make a stop at the post office tomorrow and hopefully get some sort of chart for weights, sizes, and pricing so I know how much S&H will cost for the majority of pieces. I hope to recoup some of the cost of the initial purchase by this as to keep my accountant (wife) happy at home. If anyone is interested in parts off of a SS-III Celica such as body work, superstrut suspension or any other piece peculiar to the ST202 JDM Celica please let me know and I am sure we can set something up! Not sure if this post will go through, I tried posting a couple minutes earlier and I did not see anything pop up so I apologize if I posted multiple times. |

If you're in the service and stationed overseas, aren't you allowed to ship one car back with you for free through the military? That's from what I was told. Definitely a Marine and I'll guess he's stationed at Camp Foster. If your 2nd SS-III has the red and black tri-spoke stitched steering wheel in good condition I'd be interested in that. Thanks. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

That's from what I was told. no, only if you bought a USDM car through the exchange services or they shipped your USDM car from home to there. -------------------- 2001 Celica GT-S Turbo

I'd be interested in the red/black cloth SS-III seats if available and depending on price.
