So here's my babies

I've had my 97GT 6gc since 2008 or so @ ~130k miles, and 3rd owner.

Currently at 173K miles and still runs exactly the same as it was the day I brought her home.

Over the years I did the suspension, brakes, and had a hell of a time chasing an EGR issue, and then a hard starting problem.

Replaced the Timing belt twice, alternator, distributor, new spark plugs & wires.

This was the old paint that I never liked. The clear coat on the roof starting to burn and peel off was a good enough reason to get the car repainted, so I opted to change the color to a more modern and much more pleasant one.

Along the way I found a set of JDM power folding mirrors, after a while I finally pulled them out to wire up, but it seems the relay is bad, so i'll worry about the toggle function later on.

Because of the traffic laws where I live, front plates are required...got a little crafty at work and made a relocation plate.

It only uses 1 bolt and one insert I added to another hole in the crash bar, a version 2 will be made that I can mount the plate much more securely.

Since only having the car painted in the last few weeks and have run out of stuff to do to my truck...I have turned my attention back to my car and re-kindled the original plan.

A couple of years ago I ordered a WRC edition 3SGTE & AWD drivetrain from Jim and it's been more or less in storage since.

I've collected many parts along the way, finally getting closer to getting everything in place.

for those curious about my truck, you can oogle it here

I converted it from a 2wd to 4wd, so it only makes sense that I convert my GT into a GT-Four biggrin.gif

Enjoy

6V4 Spruce Mica

It's a new Toyota color, but so new they don't have color-matched spray cans available yet.

Took the car back last week to have the paint fixed. Some areas were missed entirely due to masking off panels instead of easily removing them to paint underneath.

Next up is to machine my own front bearing puller tool to change the front hubs to the rav4 5x114 so I don't have to take the spindle anywhere.

Still need to get tires for my new rims.
