I'm currently looking for wheel options. I have like new ENKEI ev5 in 17x7 they just weight 19.4 pounds. That's not bad at all for a 17 inch rim... I'm looking for 16x7 this round I think. Basically we get robbed having 5x100... Hardly any good choices at least that I can find within reasonable price besides rota slips. Any suggestions/ideas

Also thought about ENKEI rpf1 but I had them on my Honda and they are just ugly.

lightweight and good looking, you should be willing to shell out a few extra $ if you want that This post has been edited by Tigawoods: Mar 7, 2015 - 3:09 PM -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

well then you will have to spend more money.
Dont let a few stories about rims cracking sway you. If you REALLY try, you can crack any rim. There are tons of people running these rims without issues. -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

True I realize that. Just didn't know how easy they crack. On fb wheel trading pages I always see the k1's for sale/trade with cracked wheel. I'll take your word for it and see if I can get a pair for a fair price.

Those people also probably have rubber bands for tires and abuse their cars. The Kosei rims are a fair price for a quality product, they're also actually made in Japan. At least the last time I was looking at rims anyway. You might like the Enkei PF01, but rather or not it comes in the Celica's pattern and offset I can't remember.

+1 on the k1s. I have the 17x7 +36 weighs at 13.7-14.3lbs. Lol. But like they said. If you're scared of cracked rims then just spend a couple thousands on some forged lightweight rims.
Btw, I bought my used for $330 shipped for all four. -------------------- |

Damn that's not bad at all. I paid 480 for my ev5s like new 100% mint with Goodyear eagle gt tires 6/32nds tread. But 330 isn't bad at all.

looking on frs and brz, and subaru forums. a lot of guys sell their used 17x9 setup with stock offset specs. it seems they are doing it right as far as function over form, but our wheel wells at 17x9 with +45 offset is the same as having 17x8 with +25 offset, it will rub on rears. and possibly front two. their is another seperate thread above that.

I'll have to agree about the k1s, i've used and abused mine for a long time (10+ years)...only problems i've had were small crack on the inner lip on two rims. I had one repaired about 4 years ago and its been fine ever since. The other is currently at the shop being repaired. If you can find a set i say go for it.

The RPF1 isn't that much of a looker though, they're just so popular for the price/weight ratio. They don't look horrible per se, but they're not spectacular either.

Just went and looked and the Ultraleggera isn't really any more than the RPF1, just a few dollars really.

I was looking at the oz ultraleggera hlt way out of range. Your right the regular ultraleggera isn't to steep in price.

I think they look pretty good, and Enkei does have the PF01 for the Celica but in a 17" only.
