The few times that I've autocrossed my car I've taken my sub out and I do notice a slight difference coming out of the turns. But unless you going to be racing your car all the time, why not have a system that sounds good when you're just cruising.

i ended up taking out my spare tire to lessen the weight.

i was also thinking of getting a single 12in sub, instead of 2 10s.

Mine was a bit slower when I had two 10" subs and a big enclosure, and now it's not as slow because I'm running one 12" sub, but soon I'll be running one 10" sub in a fiberglass enclosure to save weight and place the sub out of the way. smile.gif

you know most of that wait isn't coming from the subs themselves sure there heavy but it is probably the weight of the MDF box that you have it in those things weigh a ton. Make your self a custom FGlass encloser u will be stasisfied with weight reduction. It is a really cool project at least it was for me.

if you want to race, take all the **** out. Otherwise, if you've got good music, there's no reason to go fast!
