Hey folks it s been a long long time since ive been on here. Lookin for some advice on a Timing belt change. Whats the interval on a timing belt change for the Beams 3SGE. I've last had it changed at 156,000KM, Iam now pushing a whopping 254,000KM (Still going strong), so iam near on a 100,000KM between changes....should I change it now? is the interval on the BEAMS BELT 100,000KM or 100,000 MILES???

Cheers Folks.

Given that the BEAMS is an interference motor, it's better to be safe and change it at 100,000 km intervals. I'm sneaking up to 100k miles on my timing belt and I'm wanting to get it changed pretty soon. If it was a non-interference engine, it wouldn't be a big deal but it's cheaper to replace the belt than some pistons and bent valves.

I couldn't really find much with a quick search but Toyota likes to do 60K miles as a severe use interval, even though almost all of their engines are non-interference. I'd say go ahead and get a timing set and just get to it on the next time you feel like burning the midnight oil for a few hours.
