Aftermarket amp / power antenna wiring question Options

So I've spent a good portion of last night and this morning trying to find an answer but have so far only found frustration. I've gone through so many posts and I still can't find the droids I'm looking for.

I am "upgrading" my stereo from an older Pioneer model to a newer one. I will be reusing the Metra 70-8112 Amp Integration Harness and wiring it into the newer Pioneer's wiring harness but am getting no sound. Nor is my power antenna coming up.

For information: I had to order a wiring harness from Xtenzi (H/U was from a friend and I've seen it work). Here's the Metra amp integration harness that I am using (though I'm sure y'all already know (of) it).

When I clipped the old Pioneer's wiring harness, the blue (power antenna) wire was mated with the blue-white (AMP turn on) wire on the Pioneer end and those two were connected to the blue-white wire on the Metra.

I remember reading that there's a unique circular issue where the amps don't turn on if the stereo doesn't get a signal and therefore the speakers don't work with the amps not on.

Anyhow, I mimicked how the old harness was wired (mated the blue and the blue-white on the Metra and connected them to the blue-white on the new Pioneer Harness - pic. No sound.

I feared I blew an amp so I went ahead and plugged in my OEM radio and it worked perfectly fine. Am I missing something?? Any input would be really helpful.

Can't say I've experienced your issue directly but here is what I would try.

The stereo itself should have a dedicated power antenna and a separate remote turn on wire. Your old one may not have. They are also usually limited in the amperage they can provide. Maybe connecting the two outputs off just the one source is shutting down the output from the deck? Try running the output from the deck just to the amp wire and not the power antenna and see if you get sound then. Or just power test the output wire from the deck..it may just not work at all
