Hi,

I was wondering if someone might be able to offer advice on a problem I am having. I recently had my ('95 convertible) Celica in the shop to replace the regulator on the rear quarter window. When I got it back, there was a problem with the wiring (somehow). Before, when I went to put the top down, I'd press the three buttons on the dash simultaneously - top down, left rear window down, and right rear window down. This time, nothing happened. Now, when I press the rear window right button down, it lowers both the rear right window AND the top. All other buttons individually work (up/down, windows/top).

Clearly pressing the rear window down button is closing the circuit for the window and the top. Where could the problem be? How many places do these wires converge? Is this likely related to the repair or could this be a coincidence (which seems unlikely after working for 19 years)? My mechanic suggested it might be a bad relay, but after speaking to a Toyota service department (trying to find the part), I was told that relays are not likely to "partially" work - they either will or won't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I hate having anything going wrong with my Celica. smile.gif

Cheers,
Demitri

Smells like whatever your mechanic did messed up. Those switches are not bunched together. Each is different.

Thanks, that's helpful to know. Is there some guide I could use look up to see where the wires for that switch (right rear quarter window) run? It would save time to be able to follow it since it's obviously touching something it's not supposed to.
