Hey Everyone, i just set up my celica account and am new to this site. All i have to say is that this site is the best 6th gen celica site i've seen! I have a 95 celica ST and the thing needs more "UMPH!" Can anyone tell me what engine swap is the easiest to do? I knoe that there is a limited amount of performance parts for the ST's and i think that i'd rather spend the majority of my $$$ on something that would have a better performance output rather than buying performance parts. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks. johnny

Having an ST the most "feasible" swap is the 4a-ge or 4a-gze. the ge bein N/a and the gze being supercharged. This is suposedly a drop in but Coomer has had problems with his power steering pump or something. But as far as engine mounts and tranny they bolt up to a ST.

The 3s-gte is the more "feasible" swap into a GT celica.

There are alot of different 4a-*** engines out of alot of different cars and the power ranges from each one, even though they are in a sense the same engine. Do more research starting with the "feasible engine swaps" thread at the top of this forum.

Read the feasible engine swap section as was mentioned

but personally I would say the 3s-gte is the best option for you
if you're willing to spend the money on it!

edit: jsut dont make her more than 300hp
I personally dont think FWD cars should have a lot of power, because I hate to admit it but performance wise FWD really sucks, and too much power will just be redundant, because the car wont be able to get adaquate traction.. meh

The 97 tt Supra will be mine soon..
I'm saving all my $$$ to make that a real performance car instead of blowing it on a 3s-gte swap

But to every man his own.. wink.gif

did you read the post above you? The guy has an ST, and thus a 3sgte swap would require a LOT more money and work than on a GT.

umm...the 3SGTE SWAP into a ST would not require A LOT MORE MONEY AND WORK like you guys say.

The swap is just a little more work, mainly the motor mounts and tranny.

The rest is basically the same as the GT.

Motor mounts and tranny are really easy to come by.

If you are thinking 3SGTE go for it, I did.

There hasn't been many successful 4A swaps, but go for that if you want to be more unique.

THE MOST FEASIBLE SWAP WOULD BE THE 3SGTE FOR THE ST RIGHT NOW.
It has been the most done, succesful, and probably the easiest at the moment.

The 4a swaps may eventually be easier on the ST though,
