Hello all, I recently purchased a real clean 1996 Celica gt as a gift good my son. I've been modifying cars and trucks for manny years and am stunned by the lack of aftermarket performance parts for this car. I can't find a car back exhaust for this thing. Not even on eBay. Anyone know what I'm missing here? We aren't trying to go crazy with mods just lower louder and clean. Thanks!

Aftermarket support for the Celica has been dropped SEVERELY. Even compared to when I had mine a few years ago the support then wasn't what it was, but it's nearly nonexistent now in comparison. If you want a pre-made exhaust you'll have to find a used one someone is selling, honestly your best bet would be to find a good exhaust shop locally and have them make something. As far as lowering I think Tein still makes springs, but not coil-overs anymore. I think Megan Racing and BC Racing still make coil-overs for it though.

The aftermarket support for the 5s and 7a has always been lacking. The 3s is where all the performance parts are at.

the demand for modifying these cars in the US as a US model is not there. So there were companies making full catbacks back in the day but the inventory has run out for a long time.

I have two full catbacks the greddy sp2 and 5zigen.

In regards to exterior and interior mods, its not an issue, in regards to having a 3s motor is where all the performance is being done. Companies around the world support that engine.

If you are specifically looking for just some good noise, you can pick out a muffler and have a muffler shop weld in place of stock. If you want a full catback, they can do that, too. I like the sound of an cone air filter, like a typical k&n. You will need to do a little homework to do generic stuff like this but often the result is actually better.

I don't feel especially limited when looking for celica mods. Much of the car is interchangeable with other common toyotas, and you can mount a and s motors without a lot of fuss. It's easy to work on. Cheap to replace. What more can you ask? It's not like a mustang or an eclipse back in it's day, but most cars don't have that kind of "every part under the sun" support.

I don't want just noise. I want a nicer full flowing exhaust. I'm not into welding a fart can muffler onto the stock exhaust. Thanks though!

Any exhaust shop worth their snuff can make you a custom cat-back and probably for a good bit less than what it'd cost to get a pre-made one. The one upside there is you can use any muffler you want to. Also unless you have a 3S-GTE, BEAMS, or some V6 swap all the exhaust will do is add noise. The 7A and 5S are economy car engines, they're good engines but performance engines they are not.

Then dont weld on a fart can, weld on a nice vibrant performance muffler and add a resonator in line.
