push button start, push button start Options

I've read a thread from 10 years ago about a push button to start your car but he was still using a key to start it. I'm working on bypassing it. At the moment i have the ignition switch pulled out, i pulled the connector, located my hot and my starter and so far its cranking. I'm not positive if it is correct because my battery is dead so i have to charge it. Has anyone else tried putting a push button to start their car. (this is probably my 7th 6gc fyi.) Also, i have hood pins on it lmao.
