sup 6GC. I got my first car, my celica, sometime last march. my dad has been a mechanic for 30 years & the original owner brought it to his shop one day wanting to scrap it, my dad took the keys & the title & brought her home. the original owner only drove it on the weekends so she only has 80k miles on her. i didnt even have my permit yet. she sat in my garage for around 7 months while i got a job & got my permit & license.

back in december my first mod was an intake.

even before i could drive her i got attached.

recently i was hit by a 16 year old girl on my way home with my little sister.

my dad & I always wanted to do a gt-four front conversion but never had the extra money. i posted a thread about the accident & people suggested we do it now. shout out to Tigawoods & Box for helping me out. the insurance adjuster's estimate was $2700, but then a month later they decided they were only gonna pay 70%, or $1900. we bought a whole gt-four front nose.

when the package got to the shop we unloaded it & didnt see this until we got it in the shop because it was facing the inside wall of the truck. you can see there is a good size hole in the package from the shipping company. there was a few dents in the hood right where the hole was. mad.gif

my dad & I are doing the project ourselves. body work, paint, the whole nine. biggrin.gif here's where the serious progress starts.

there's minor frame damage where she was hit. the insurance adjuster is coming out again to see it because it wasnt on the estimate.

we banged out the dents on the hood today & started sanding it down for primer. we also are gonna replace the driver's side rear quarter panel because it's rusted out, & shoot the whole car red again. to those who are interested, i will keep you guys updated!

Im very glad you went for the gt-four front!
I'll have to come check it out some time when it's rolling again.

Any plans for it next?

Just a thought, I am not sure if you had any plans on getting a lip kit for it in the future but since you are getting it painted might be good to get it done all in one shot. You do have the shop and etc more readily available to you so it probably isnt a problem to just wait and do it later down the road

i'm gonna keep it stock gt-four for now. it needs exhaust very badly. when we first got the car it had a little leak & now the whole flex pipe is broken. i hate to admit it but she sounds horrible right now haha. after all the body work & paint we're gonna get custom 2.5" exhaust. & it's due for a fresh timing belt too.

I'd suggest 2.25" unless you're doing engine tuning. You're going to loose too much torque down low and it's not going to make you happy kindasad.gif

we're actually planning on boosting it in the future. probably a year or two though. should i run 2.5" or 3" for a turbo? & is it worth going 2.25" right now & then doing it all over again when we boost it?

Are we talking about 3S swap or 5SFTE?

You could get away with 2.5" on a no-mod 3S and probably a 5SFTE too

yeah i figured. that's why i wanted to go 2.5" now, instead of going 2.25" & having to change all the piping again when we get to boosting it. & 5SFTE. smile.gif

Throw in some colt cams or web cams for the turbo setup!
