did anyone ever try the 3sfe intake manifold on the 5sfe? I heard its bigger and flows better.

It flows better. The 5sfe one has 1 runner per cylinder and the 3sfe one has 2. Dont know of anyone documented to have done this. Ive tried to get one but that are hard to find. The intake manifold you need is a JDM 3sfe one. There is also a custom one that itzits makes. You can find him on the MR2 boards.

2 runner manifolds don't necesarily flow better than single runners. It all depends on the set-up. Also... the engine can only intake so much... so a larger throttle body won't necesarily add more power. It will have potential for more power, assuming the stock manifolds are restrictive as crap... but as far as a bolt-on performance modification... I don't see any with stock compression/internals/ and induction. That's my opinion on the matter.

The USDM camry 3sfe's are different from the JDM ones.

Good point. Im just relaying what Ive been told and have read in the past. As I understand it the #4 cylinder get either to much of not enough air with the stock settup. This is due to both the manifold and also the valves and head design. I believe the 3sfe manifold if going to be the best bang for your buck due to it being a stock part and not haveing to be custom.

Lol yes, yes we have. I think we butted heads for almost a whole page lol. Anyway, its all hear say. Ive never seen it done just been told it was possible. Anyone feel free to find one and try it out and sellte this once and for all. :-)
