well i guess i have a preety good story, the other night at 1 i decided to go see a friend at the bowling alley well it was pretty dumb there i left with another friend who said he wanted to go racing well i didnt have anthing else to do so i was like ya i guess ill race ya. In wiscons there is hwy100 where all the racers basically go. anways when we get out there we stop at the gas station and some racers leave as we pull in. well we leave and my friend is driving a mazda dx i believe it was, well anyway we got to the light i had a buddy in my car and we wooped the mazdas ass big time. It was fun and he said that i should race this honda coming up well after finally getting stopped at a light we all went and i blew them both away and he stopped after getting to about 80mph well then i decdied to turn around at a light which is illegal(wooot) some more racers were coming back from way in front of us then. Well to make a long story short i beat another white honda untill the talon came in and it was awd turbo and it laid the law down on me twice. oh well it was turbo i took it off the line suprisingly though. later we went to this hotel and saw the popo cotper out looking for street races on 100 so we left. celica held its own against the race that. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Awesome, it'd be cool if you knew what the actual car was that the Mazda was...cuz DX is just a trim level of certain cars, but I'm guessing it was an older protege. Cool man, and yeah those DSM's suck! I have yet to beat an AWD turbo in my Celi, but can womp on them in my WRX.

Hey Akimbo,

Im really not trying to be an ass at all dude but is the fast and the furious coment nessicary? Seceriously. this is a quote ive learned to live by. "TO EACH THERE OWN" it means everyone does different things for fun. Just becasue u dont like or agree with it dont mean you have to dog others for doing so. Sorry if i am offending anyone with this but its just how i feel.

HAHHAHAHAHAHA classic, i hope you get fined. street racing = retarted

i realize that yea, on the highway at 1AM its fairly controled because theres no traffic out, and atleast you are smart about that. but even on the highway theres **** that can happen or go wrong, just sayin its better to keep it on the track.

lol even though it is called highway 100 its not really, just a long stretch of road with a bunch of stop lights inbtween them. And yes it probably wasnt the smartest thing to do but i was like hell when was the last time i went street racing then i realized that is like about a year and i wasnt even driving. For the record if it wasnt risky then it wouldnt be worth doing it all and plus theres not much to do when your up at 1pm and your not 21 yet, at least in wisconsin. i dont know i could be wrong but it was fun needless to say.

Like you say, to each their own. But I hate hearing about street racing stories on this forum, but that's just me. K?

hehe mr2oc bans any illegal automotive activity on their forums. its all deleted and removed and the person who posts it recieves a warning. constant disregard for the rule is grounds for being suspended and/or banned.

to each their own tongue.gif

I'm not a big fan of steet racing, but it is a rush. anyway, sometimes people just need to be put in there place, and there are no tracks open 24/7, so what can you do. Nice story though, always like to hear when a civic gets owned tongue.gif

Please tell me that was on purpose.

I'm not sure what's dumber, doing something that'll get your license revoked and car impounded or tuning a car for driving at 35 mph. Sure straight line racing is very ricey, but what's even more ricey is making a car look "good" when it tops out at 90 mph. Sticker power.

Perhaps moral purity can be found in auto crossing on private property? That's real driving and you won't hit little kids playing ball in the street.

He was just expressing his opinion...

And I feel the same way as Akimbo. Keep it on the tracks. It doesn't cost that much to run in a relatively safe environment (roughly $15)... so why risk your lives by doing something stupid on the streets when you can do something LEGAL AND SAFE at the tracks? All it takes is one serious accident b4 anyone will come to realization how stupid their actions were... are you seriously gonna wait for that to happen?

EDIT: Oh yeah... "to each their own"... but please just be safe and don't do anything stupid...

my friends and i street race. With alot of planned and safe actions. we go to an old highway area called whites. it connects to hick towns. no one uses it. we get one car and park it at one end and make sure no one is coming and another car at the end of the strip we use. then flash the highs to go. i mean if ur gunna do it do it right. the closet track for me is NH like 4 hour drive. i went up there once and it rained so we couldnt even run it sucked.

as for like weaving through traffic. not to swift.

Akimbo, I agree that street racing is primarily stupid and unsafe and I respect that you don't like seeing street racing stories on this forum, but if you don't like them- just don't read them; don't comment on them. There's really no call for you to say the same thing in every street racing post.

Why not? It just let telling someone to use the search function for every question that's been asked 20 times in a week. If he wants to comment let him. Or if you don't like seeing his comments, just don't read them. wink.gif

<3 kuya

I guess I've just got this parental instinct kind of thing where I worry about people street racing. Most mature people look down on this act. In what way does this better you? Sorry. I hope we never have to come to 6gc.net and see a member post about a fellow member who lost their life in a race. It'd be such a waste. But ya, to each their own. I have more respect for itchy's style than just pulling up to a city street light and going, or a rural area. People do that here (way out in the country) for bike races, they sit at both ends of a long ass road and use walkie talkies.

**applause all around**

thats the way to do it man, sanctionized racing is the sh!t. if you need to street race for the "thrill of the chase and the adrenaline of possably getting caught" then you really suck @$$ at driving, because you get the same feeling when you know a 2/10 of a second f**k up on your part can cost you a win.
